The Genius of Danny Kaye

When I was a kid and spent HOURS upon HOURS in front of the only television channel in Israel during summer vacation, they would constantly run and rerun Danny Kaye movies. Then it was pure fun, today you can also acknowledge the genius of the writing and the brilliance of the performance. Here’s one example from “The Court Jester”.
(Isn’t it about time someone offers a DVD box set of Kaye movies, loaded with extras?)

Good bye Lt. Hightower, you made me laugh

RIP Bubba Smith, of NFL and Police Academy fame. He always struck me as a gentle soul. Sad to see him go.

The Israeli social revolution is podcasted in English! |Via phonesinspace

Australia, Mexico, the UK, and all you U.S-types!
In the past three weeks there’s a revolution going on here in Israel. A real revolution – Che G-style.
Thousands of Israeli citizens have pitched tents and rallied to cry out for social justice. It is a rare thing here in Israel that people are rallying behind a non-military/security agenda.

And so, last week, the team behind Phones in Space (Ziv Kitaro and Didi Chanoch) a blog usually dealing with Technology and Sci-fi, came to Tel-Aviv’s Tent City to podcast the revolution.

The reason I share this with you all is that beside the podcast being interesting, and besides it being untied to any official broadcasting “entity”, it is in English and you will be able to relate and get a good picture of things.
So please, listen to it- it is well worth your time.
